The reason I can use it so readily is that my car doesn't have the rearmost cover as you seem to have. Don't ask me why it isn't there, I have no idea. Can't say I have missed it, in fact I can't see what its purpose would be, nothing there to protect.

I think that is where it should be. You could always drop the cover to check and then throw it away. |

Check the document on jacking/lifting in the workshop manual that you can download from the wiki Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

I thought there was a subframe jacking point at the front of the engine below radiator/condensor. Much better for lifting less weight. (Obviously I can no longer have a look or take a pic ) .

Hey DrRob. I don’t know if I’m being thick but I’ve looked at the document numerous times and I even linked it above in my 1st post. However the picture illustration is terrible and if you can match it to a real life picture your better than me mate lol. I have got to say this is the worst forum for unhelpful “do a search” comments I have ever been on, I understand the long timers here have seen it all before many times but posting do a search means that there are loads of threads coming up in the search’s with no information, just do a search comments!! I suggest either answer the question or don’t read the thread or post if you cannot be bothered to be helpful. Most of the time it would take as long and the same amount of typing to answer as to direct elsewhere or “ do a search”
