Turbo oil leak

I’ve just had my 2013 SDV8 L405 AB serviced at my local Indy and they’ve found an oil leak on the near side turbo. The car has extended warranty until the end of September so I’ve booked it in at the LR dealer for investigation.

Has anyone had a similar issue and if so what was the problem and resolution. Just trying to get a heads up just in advance of any potential discussions that may ensue with the dealer. 2019 L405 SDV8 Autobiography

Your engine is much the same as the 4.4TDV8 in the 322, so a search on those cars might be useful.

My 2012 WM had an oil weep, described by the dealer as "misting", from one of the turbos. It was thought not bad enough to do anything other than monitor it, and it didn't get worse or cause any problems while I had the car. 2013 SDV8s may well not have the so-called turbo drain mod and that may be relevant in your case. Plenty of threads on that topic if it is. Only Range Rovers since 1988

Thanks for the reply.

Interestingly I've found this in the additional health check records when my car was seen by the dealership 12 months ago.

'Oil leak around the turbo requires LTB00524v6 carrying out'.

My car is now booked in for investigation and I've reminded them about what they said 12 months ago. 2019 L405 SDV8 Autobiography

The turbo drain mod is LTB 00513 , and is in the Wiki.

Mike the one in the wiki is L322 and I think the LTB00524v6 relates to the L405 and is slightly different..

I'm after a copy of LTB00524v6 if anyone can help.

. Cheers, Greg

Actually GraemeS said:

LTB00524V6 is for the L405 MY13/14 although I don't have an English version. I can look at the pictures though and they're all the same as the L322's.

The replacement drain part is different but maybe they didn't update the install pics

. Cheers, Greg

Greg,
It doesn’t cost much to log into Topix for a couple of hours, which would be ample time to download it.

I would be happy to chip in to anyone willing to download all the TSB’s like we did to get the WM.
It was £20 for 24 hrs , but that is a few years ago now., but it was a very slow process.

Update:

The dealer has just rung me to confirm that the drain mod has already been done and that the turbo will be replaced under the extended warranty. 2019 L405 SDV8 Autobiography
