L322 Bonnet/wing foam blocks

Morning,

I haven't managed to find the part number, but could you let me have a price for the 2 no. foam blocks that sit between the top corners of the bonnet and the front wings? One of mine had deteriorated and was like and sponge, so i removed both. Now have a ridiculous whistle at anything over 30mph.

Would anyone happen to have a photo of the above blocks in place? Didn't even know they existed, to be honest never missed them to date though.

Had a search Stan but can't find anything. Just curious as to what they are, inclined to agree they would be a water trap being foam.

Thanks Dan,

Agree they are a water trap once they start to degrade, but i'd rather replace them every two years than put up with that damn whistle the bonnet makes if they aren't in place!

Thanks stan Thumbs Up
Having looked at my car I can see why they were fitted but the material they are made from seems a bit iffy given other people's experiences. The previous owner of my car must have discarded them presumably because of their condition.
It never even crossed my mind such things were originally fitted. As I have never noticed any wind noise or sound in those areas I will leave as is can't see the point of introducing a potential rust trap.

OK- if you don't have these fitted but also don't have the wind noise, perhaps i am looking in the wrong place for the cause.

I'd assume the next obvious place to investigate would be windscreen wipers/arms?

There are two pieces per side which fit next to each other.
