It would be nice to think there will be some relief, but I'm sure as with all chancellors, he'll give with 1 hand and take more with the other! Sad

I bet fuel duty doesn't go down - frozen maybe, but I doubt he will cut it. After all, people are quite happily paying current prices without demos at refineries and slow moving convoys on the motorways or through Westminster.

Other changes - big increase in tobacco duty and duty on wines, spirits and beers................ VED up instead of the fuel increase? 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

Well, the country is skint thanks to old Pop-Eye so the debts have to be reduced. Would be nice to think that the motorist doesn't have to bear all the load though.

No reason to doubt why they shouldn't remain the easy target!

the thing with increased fuel costs is that it hits food prices etc thereby increasing the inflation rate

being an insomniac due to arthritis pain i was watching various news programmes from 4am

members of the public were interviewed on all channels inc Al jazeera! - everyone said number 1 concern was fuel prices!

My wages go on, mortgage, food and fuel. That's it.
Nothing to spend on holidays, goods, clothes, going out etc. So if many are like me, how does this get the economy going? Confused

Too true Rich.. we all live within our means.. both me and the Mrs work and are already bracing ourselves.. as we both work in the "public sector"....ish and it looks like we are about to have to "assume the position" whilst the soap gets passed it ain't looking too rosey for the future. Likely to have £600 a month less income & Child allowance x 3 nippers reduced/gone to... thats a big big dent in anyones monthly budget. I'm just glad we don't have a huge commute. I may be walking 10 miles a day pretty soon if all their plans come to fruition --- infact It'll end up being cheaper packing in work! Censored that! 2010 Disco XS TDV6, 2009 Freelander 2 GS

I'll wait to see what the fine print says, some of the changes to personal tax could be very expensive for me if I loose my Foreign Earnings refund, and changes to things like that are usually hidden in the depths of the Red Book and the papers don't feature them very heavily. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

It would be nice to see fuel duty drop but realistically the best we can hope for is it be frozen. Thats not to say fuel wont keep getting higher as oil prices keep going up.
Since i bought my FFRR 4 months ago the price has gone up 10-15 pence a litre.
Personally I think its a shocking but am still paying it cos I have to!! Big Cry FFRR TD6 HSE

So it going down my 1p a litre. Is that right??

Its a step in the right direction I guess. The fact its gone up by about 5p in the last 2 weeks kinda takes the edge off. Laughing FFRR TD6 HSE
