L322 V8 S/C Wheels

Hi Everyone

Looking at buying a S/C V8 on a 55 plate and was wondering what wheel size I could go down to i.e. 18" or not?

Looking to do some off roading and wanted to get as much tyre sidewall as possible without affecting the brakes etc.

I think on the L322 the std size wheel was 20" but stand to be corrected and I have seen 18" rims on a L322 before but I think that was a 4.4 V8 and not the S/C version. "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" -----------is how far you take the fence with you.

19" is the smallest you can fit on the 4.2 due to the calipers. Ask me how I know Smile Land Rover Addict

Hi,

Nah - luckily I had some 19" from my previous L322 (4.4 VCool fitted with MT/R's - so I put them on the 4.2SC for the Belgium National back in 2006 - the rims only just cleared the calipers so there is literally no way an 18" would have gone on! Land Rover Addict

Been onto the Compomotive site and according to the site the 18” don’t fit the S/C L322 Big Cry "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.

I can only speak from experience and say that LR don't make an 18" that fits over the braking system. If another company does then just make sure the wheels are rated correctly - because NO WAY was there a big enough gap between the calipers/disk set up on my 4.2SC after fitting 19s that would make me think 18s would work Smile Land Rover Addict

Well, according to Barry from Compomotive the 18” do fit the V8 S/C so just need to find a decent one Thumbs Up "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
