I didn't get stuck but the story is fresh just like the smell. I am on holiday with the family in Cornwall this week and while driving back to the cottage I noticed an interesting lane. My little boy was asleep in his car seat so the wife couldn't shout at me so I reversed the car and before she could say anything I was on mud! I span the rotary switch and the car was great, some parts were really steep and I flew past a few cows. When we got out of the car the smell hit me, I have got fresh cow pooh everywhere, mud flaps, side steps wheels but above all else it is the smell, it stinks Sheep

Luckily, I haven't got my car stuck yet, mainly because I haven't taken it off road yet Laughing My mate once got his winter shed Escort TD stuck in quite a deep muddy hole though, 3 of us in the car, the other 2 got out whilst I managed to rock it back and forth to get it out. I would have got out and pushed, but was wearing new trainers Laughing

I did almost get my Volvo 850 T5 Auto stuck in the muddy/grass car park at Croft one year, middle of December, sleet, field, a load of stuck cars, luckily I had winter mode on the auto 'box which set the car off in 3rd gear, managed to creep it out the field whilst a mate of mine did doughnuts in his Impreza then casually drove away.

Dan, Alvis Stalwart, just googled one, how did you get it stuck and what the hell were you doing with it in the Thames? 2006 Mercedes CLS

But really finding it hard to fight the urge for a S/C...

Yup. That's about the long and the short of it! To be fair, didnt get too stuck, just kinda grounded out on it.

You can pick em up for 3-6K depending if you want one with swim gear or not. They engines are "Multi-Fuel" too Cool

Will have one when I have a big enough drive!

My Motorhome has got its front wheels stuck in soft grass a few times and that always requires a tractor being 2 wheel drive! Hard pitches only outside summer months now.....

May fit some Kuhmo KL71's though..... Laughing

And back from the dead....

Got a D4 stuck in some mudded ruts last year when crossing a field and one corner was covered in ruts and they looks hard as well so while still moving moved hieght up to off road and carried on.

One rut sank very deep and the rear left wheel lower arm caught the hard top edge of it and as i was already moving forward just lifted the wheel Sad the remaining 3 wheels then just span as the electronics couldn't understand it and just raised the hieght more which didnt help.

Ended up get a hilux which only had 2wd(bust diff) yank me out after an old disco 2 failed to as he worried about his auto box. Took 1 light yank and then a big one with a standard 5tonnes strap and was free.

never been stuck since but have come close and rocking always helps as do good tyres Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

When shooting, I was following a bunch of cars across a field of wet grass. It was flat and I wasn't paying attention. I drove across a tyre rut at 90deg at about 1mph. No momentum meant that both front wheels ended in the bottom, effectively chocking the car. Road tyres on wet grass meant zero traction to get out. It couldn't have been a more pathetic place to get stuck if I'd tried. The tyre rut was no more than 3" deep.

Ford Ranger, in a grassed field. Right up to the diff, took ages to get it out, but I would not give in. Installed some pretty impressive 'parallel drainage ditches' in the process. Needed some ballast in the back, but no-one would help.
Had it, loved it!
