Hi,

This is my first posting.
I stumbled on this forum in my search to diagnose the pesky “Restricted performance”

With the help of a couple of Indy shops I have used earlier I am currently down to blaming a short circuit causing the F20 fuse in the engine bay blowing.

And by pulling one plug from “the radiator”? it stops (the short circuiting and the car seems to drive near perfect:)).

Question is now which sensor have I unplugged and how can I diagnose it further?

I signed up to get access to the service manual - but am still a couple of postings away...

Do you have access to someone with a code reader to clear then read the codes? This should reveal the component now disconnected.

Still waiting for my iidtool to arrive.
But honestly as no errors were shown in the dash after removing it I didn’t even consider to look for codes
Well I will try to get it to a shop tomorrow and have them scan it

By searching online I have found that it must be the plug for the fan it self (viscous fan)
It matches the wiring shown on new ones at least and makes sense as I recall now some errors earlier on stating an open circuit on the fan ?!? (And could easily be the reason I tried to pull that plug)
I have not had the chance to throw a scan tool on yet.

Is the fan expected to get short circuited or should I look at the harness?
I have tried to find a diagram or specs for the fan/plug to do some measuring but come up empty so far.
As I see it it would be the LR022732

I had a look at mine and thought your plug might be the fan plug but couldn't get good easy access to disconnect it to compare with your picture. If it is for the fan then a short circuit is most likely in the wiring but could be where the wiring enters the hub which could be difficult to repair. I do most of my own work so I would be checking the harness first.
