Some more expert person can maybe comment on the implications, but as regards keeping an eye on it, you could put the car on the off road height and slide under it, perhaps wearing a head torch to locate the leak. Having done so it would be a case of watching the ground underneath for any drips of oil in the relevant area (roughly between the rear wheels I would say). If your car is garaged you could put something underneath to show any drip, if you don't (say) have a light painted floor that would show it up anyway,. e.g. a piece of cardboard.

Thanks CS, sounds like a good idea re putting it off road height and having a peak. I don’t have a garage, or even off road parking, so the car is never parked in the same place, just wherever I can find a space in my street, so checking for driipped oil on the ground is a bit of a challenge. Will keep an eye out though. |

This is a known problem (see my other posts). LR do a repair kit for it and it should be covered under warranty if you have one. Get it repaired asap is my advice. |

Cheers. The car is LRAU with a 2 year Warranty, so I should be covered. I'm surprised the dealer didn't just fix it in the circs, so I will follow up. |
