Help needed please Instrument lighting problems

Help Please.
Instrument back lighting Failure and flickering
Hi hope you can help. Tried working through this swapping out known good parts from my old vehicle same year and type!
The Fault:
Instrument lights illuminate but when you switch the lights on they slowly dim down and start to flicker.
Action taken:
Isolate battery. Replace Lighting switch and LCM for known good one.
Checked to see if it had cured the problem before reassembling dash board and trim, it Worked as it should without any flickering.
Disconnected Battery. And reassembled trim. Reconnected battery and started car and did the lock to lock to reset.
Tried Lights. Sides and Headlights. They worked fine but instrument back lights were back to rapid flickering when turned up to full brightness. But when dimmed down to barley visible the flickering stops.
I have tried PM ing the chaps that have had this problem in the past but nobody has responded.
So I decided to consult the Oracle Bow down
2003 L322 4.4 LPG and Android header unit. Poorly fitted by previous owner. Eddie the eagle watch out 👀

Take out the instrument binnacle and check to see if the bulbs are leds, someone may have swapped them out in the past.

LEDs are known to flicker... ______________________________

Never thought of that I will trying that when it and if it ever stops raining here☔️
But if thats the case why did it not flicker when I tested it before rebuilding the dash ?
It is flickering much like a fast strobe.
Could I have caused damage to the lighting switch pressing it back int place. Eddie the eagle watch out 👀

There are many on here who have fitted LEDs to their external lights and like mine have worked fine until the day they don’t and they start flickering. I very much doubt that the lighting switch is causing this problem as I’ve dropped mine on several occasions while fitting it back in and it’s been fine afterwards. ______________________________

Thanks again.
That gives me the reassurance I needed to go and start stripping it down again in the rain. LOL
I am sure you have been there and done that.
Cheers Pete Eddie the eagle watch out 👀
