Paint peel on MY2007 - short term repair?

It's a patch about 3cm in diameter, centre of the roof, a few cms back from the windscreen. The top coat has peeled back to primer. I only spotted it because I was on the step ladders to clean the roof properly.
I know the body shop is the best place for a fix, but any suggestions as to the best short term fix?
Rattle can quick spray?
Gaffer tape over the patch?

Also, could bird s**t have caused this? Current: 2007 RR 4.2 SC, now deceased, written off by an X5

Could it be caused by heat from the interior light or something in the overhead console?

That's an interesting suggestion about the interior light, but surely it's not on for long enough?
Mine is cairns blue, by the way.
I'm washing it because it's MOT day tomorrow Big Cry last year was expensive (brake lines corroded), so i'm hoping presenting it clean will somehow help! Pointless, maybe, but i'll do anything for a pass. Wish me luck.

edit -- Pass !! no advisories, absolutely made up!
still need to do something about that roof paint, mind. Current: 2007 RR 4.2 SC, now deceased, written off by an X5
