Eco Stop/Start

I've just bought my wife a new car, it's a MY17 (67 plate) 5.0 Petrol.

Does it have Eco Stop Start is her only question at the moment! In her 63 plate 5.0 there is an Eco button but in the new one there isn't! I've googled but can't find anything but I'm assuming they have just done away with the button and maybe it's now controlled through the in car system or have they done away with it entirely?

I find it ironic this is her biggest concern considered it didn't work for over 2 years until LR upgraded the software! 1994 Range Rover LSE Autobiography

My 67 5.0SC has an on/off button for the auto stop start, from memory it's the first one up from the handbrake on the right hand side. AFAIK it's MY18 on that has it through the screen. Perhaps the OP has MY18, but a very early one registered 67.

Incidentally my experience of the auto stop start is that it is much less of a nuisance on the 5.0SC than on the diesels, presumably because the re-start is quicker. Mine tends to have re-started by the time my foot has moved from the brake to the throttle, so the car can be driven as if it hadn't stopped at all. I only switch it off in extended stop-start traffic as I worry it is not good for the car to be re-starting so often. A downside however is when stopping in the dark, when I would prefer to go to neutral and put the handbrake on, to avoid dazzling people behind with the brake lights, as it then restarts when the foot is taken off the brake. Perhaps there is a way to avoid that, not yet known to me. Only Range Rovers since 1988

It says on Topix MY17 but it was a late November 17 car. 1994 Range Rover LSE Autobiography
