Is a fire covered by insurance?

If you have a mechanical fire of some sort. Will that be covered by insurance or will it be turned down as a car fault?

Just curious Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

I would have thought unless they find an open gallon can in the boot with a fuse attached* a fire is a fire.

Depends what you bought. Third party only is the legal minimum and fire not covered. In the old days next band up was TP Fire and Theft - which gives a clear indication. And then comprehensive which really ought to include it but these days you have to read the small print to find out what comprehensive means to your specific policy. Mike - MPx
