Deployables on/ off

Hi all , this might be something everyone knows but just in case not, i had Hawke deployable steps fitted today , all good except they wouldn't work. Spoke with Gap ( extremely prompt and helpful ) enabled steps in CCF but still no joy. Youtube informed me that you have hold the deployable step button and the ignition butron for 10-15 seconds at the same time and all working. Reverse does work for permanently turning them off.

As i say maybe common knowledge but they we go Thumbs Up 2015 4.4 AB

What I find most annoying is that you can’t manually deploy - I’d like to just be able to press the button and out they come.

On the odd occasion I’m transporting someone who needs them I have to go through the above routine before I start the engine and then start the car again to switch them back off.

BTW mine don’t require 10-15 seconds - as long as I’m pressing the steps button down when I press start, the steps switch on.

Update on steps , had the above codes appear, my head almost exploded but emailed Gap Diagnostic and as usual got a prompt professional answer. I had to update my IID tool to the latest version and re recalibrate the drivers airbag and now everything is perfect again.

Hard to believe the solution to all those errors was to recalibrate the airbag but thats why the Gap Team have the rep they do. Amazing piece of kit and back up team 10 out of 10 for customer care. 2015 4.4 AB
