Knee capped. Steering column

Just got in from a night shift and the FFRR tried to knee cap me when I parked up.

Just stripped it down and the tilt motor has failed. Looks like the worm gear has eaten its self.

Part number QME500070 . On the side of the motor is 0390201703 just thought I'd make reference as that number couldn't be found on a google trawl but hopefully others searching fullfatrr.com will find this and be able to find the correct part number.

The motor appears to work when not on the shaft but a test with a paor of mole grips and the shaft held by hand shows the worm gears are clearly slipping.

Oddly just rang the local dealer - £162 plus vare and tare. Thats actually cheaper than any sites I've found on tinternet. Have to wait till Tuesday mind...

Once the motor is removed I can actually adjust the column tilt by using a 13mm ratchet spanner Thumbs Up

Never rains but it pours!

Will add some photos later chaps - Off to bed - been a long night! 2010 Disco XS TDV6, 2009 Freelander 2 GS

Cheers Stan. I spotted both.. but highly suspect of the two together sold as untested by someone with no prior feedback. The other also sort of left me wondering.. the one I have taken off will still turn until its under load then its stalls but you still here the motor whirring. Decided to play it safe on this item Thumbs Up 2010 Disco XS TDV6, 2009 Freelander 2 GS
