Headlamp beam adjust for Europe - help please

Bit late for this given our imminent departure but I'd welcome some reassurance on changing the headlamp alignment for RHD roads in Europe. I've actually read the section (page38) in the manual and it looks simple enough but of course in reality there's loads of scope for error and doubt.

So take I the back off the headlamp and look.
The manual suggests I'd fine a round thing like a small black plastic wheel. What I actually find is a white plastic lever.
The manual says it will have been factory set to the country of delivery (ie UK) and all I need to do is put it into the other position. What I find is that the lever defaults to the central position and I can move it up or down. Once I let go it reverts to the central position. Having found that out I now don't know which position it was in before I started as I've moved it both ways....Arrrrggghhh!
So I switch the lights on in the garage, put on rubber gloves as a sop to the high voltage warning label, and play with the lever while watching the effect. There is very little effect on the pattern on the wall but a bright spot does move a couple of inches right or left when moving the lever. So I now assume that for RHD I want the bright spot in its furthest right position and for UK LHD I want the bright spot in the furthest left position...is that right?
I also notice that the lever on the other headlamp works the other way round...so one side is up to move left, the other side is up to move right and vice versa....nevertheless I'm thinking I need both lamps pointing right or left at the same time and not going in opposite directions...is that right?

I thought I was cleverer than this! Did you all find it obvious? Mike - MPx

I’m sure the lights are adjusted from the dashboard menu on my 2012 Westminster. Given your model year, I’d expect them to be similar.

Europe is totally LHD. Only the UK and Ireland (both) are RHD.

Oops, I thought I was answering an American on another forum - but the answer still applies. Ron B. VK2OTC

Thanks guys. Why couldn't they just put the one sentence from Stan in the manual instead of a page of diagrams and words which are far less clear!

Interesting though. Up spreads the bright spots to their widest apart whereas down narrows them both together towards the center. Now I know what to do it'll just be a few seconds activity on the train. Mike - MPx
