But surely that’s the point....the D3-D4 wasn’t originally designed as a luxury car. And the base models were relatively reasonable money when specified right.

Now the D5 has moved to the 70k price point there is nothing to fill the void.....hence the posher deafener.... which you will presumably be able to spec to D4 levels. They will have a following in D4 owners who will be waiting for this! 😜

I must admit that if this is the new Defender I quite like it.

My intention in selling my L494 RRS and now driving around in a 14 year old L322 was to sit back and see if JLR would rise to the challenge of alternative fuels along with returning to “working” Land Rover vehicles.

I think that the things I enjoy about my L322, “Sylvia” is the boxy 4X4 design, large windows, sitting up high enough to see over hedgerows and ease of maintenance. If the new Defender can offer the above then I may be inclined to consider one a year or so after launch when all the real world teething problems have been addressed.
