Losing 2 mins of time per month - Anyone Know Why?

Hi all

My 65 plate SC AB seems to lose about 2 mins of time over a month or so. If i set the time I find that a few weeks later its slow again, not sure if it will continue to get worse as it does my head in so Ive reset it twice (owned about 11 weeks), anyone know what causes this, battery issue if stood overnight perhaps?

Thanks

Carl

How fast are you driving? are you close to the speed of light? relativity could be your problem. Laughing

(sorry couldn't resist - its Sunday night and the wine is open) Thumbs Up

its the cost of the crystal that regulates the frequency oscillations of the clock.....cheap crystals lose a few mins in so many months, expensive crystal dont.. ... - .- -.

Yes. Your car only cost £100,000 so Land Rover use cheap crystals.........🤔

I seem to lose time when I use a crystal too.

Mind you, it's normally caused by the whisky in it. Rolling with laughter

there's also a theory that if you use your sat nav a couple of times a month then the gps updates the clock to the correct time.. ... - .- -.

That’s easy to prove right or wrong.
Alter the time on the clock by a few minutes before you next use sat nav.
If it auto corrects.. bingo Thumbs Up

Just been out to my car to try that , it doesn't work they are not linked .I did not think they were we don't have a BMW system which is linked and even changes the clock when you go into Europe ! My 2015 car also runs slow 2 mins every month . The fuel gauge never reads full even when you carefully brim it , I think that could be corrected in the software ?

Judging by how out of date our sat-nav's are, using GPS to update the clock would take us back to 1983! Rolling with laughter
