Hooray - new car finally!

So some of you may know I have been liking to replace my aging 2002 185k 4.4 v8 for the last couple of months, she still purrs like a kitten and runs nicely but is just getting a bit old and tired, and has started to have an arch bubble along with the mega mileage it has plus the 15-20k I put on per year I thought time for a change.

After wading through a LOT of crap (one with vsr, 5 with unacceptable amount of rot) I found a near rot free example! The back end looks nearly new! I would normally steer clear of a London car but I’m thinking this has never really been off road and it had mud flaps have helped me out here.

It’s does need a few things doing maybe someone could advise,

Firstly the mirror glass is shaking but I can’t appear to clip it in - any ideas?
Secondly the viscous fan is permanently on is there some clutch repair I can do?
Thirdly the nav keep showing a line through gps and thinks I’m in France ?? Any ideas how to fix this?
Fourthly, anyone any idea of the towbar pictured? It’s missing the attachment doesn’t look genuine but prefer the sleekness to the genuine I have and wonder what attachment I need?
Finally, this has had a facelift front end on it and the indicators blink double speed.. guessing a resistor fix? Strangely at night they are fine?

Non issue but a question at 2007 was Bluetooth standard? I can’t for the life of me work out how to enable it?

Cheers!

Yes Bluetooth is standard on a 2007 car, do you see phone not fitted on the head unit if so try and pair with something on your phone and pick Land Rover with the pin 2121.

If you can’t see anything to pair with, then check the status of the module in the boot, they do get wet and die.

Does your phone find 'Landrover' when pairing from the phone BT menu (not the Console)?

I had a line through my Nav GPS icon. Turned out that the roof Shark Fin antenna housing was cracked (weathered) and water ingress had ruined the GPS receiver. You can test if this is the issue by buying a GPS 'puck' (with FAKRA plug) and plugging it directly into the Sat Nav unit in the car's Computer corner.

If that works, either buy new Shark Fin with intact GPS, or mount the puck somewhere it gets a GPS signal.

From your photos your BT unit seems to be missing the plugged in white double cable?

The top box that says Nokia does have a plug missing so I should try finding that first? Any advise on my other points? Cheers Current stable:

Nice looking car Dan Thumbs Up

Does it have a Nokia docking bay under the centre arm rest?.
Look through the Navigation / TV / Phone booklet (if it came with the car).
I've seen the owners booklet pack advertised on e-Bay if you were not given one with the car.

Happy Days Thumbs Up

Dan see the white fibre's in Gyre8's piccy ^^^ where are yours? -- probably joined together, which probably means the Bluetooth unit is FUBAR and been 'wired out' of the loop

Look up bic pen fix on here to see what folk do Wink Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Regarding the disco flashing indicators, you are correct it does need a resistor added to cheat the system.
I guess at night time its ok because the other lights electrical demand masks the low current draw of the indicators.

Looks as if the Nokia unit has gone defective and been bypassed. Replacements readily available.

4.2 s/c Very Happy

With the gps and this not working I am quickly looking at ripping it out and replacing but don’t really want to lose the rear screens which I’m guessing need the from one to work? And can’t see any lvds/rca adapter - a CarPlay interface may be the way to go... Current stable:
