What should I be paying ?

I've been looking for a RR for ages now, and ones just come up locally.. The spec is - May 2005 TD6 Facelift Vogue SE, Silver with Black interior, RSE Pack, 60k miles, FSH (but one due now) I would say needs £6 - 700 spending on it to make it 100%. What would be a sensible price to pay for this age and spec ?

this site might help http://www.networkq.co.uk/buying/value-your-car/ ... - .- -.

Thanks, forgot to say it's a private sale, so no warranty..

Interesting site that, hopefully that's more of a true value than 'we buy any car'

check its the oil service and not the Inspection2 service thats due, otherwise it will cost a lot more. Bills soon mount up with a RR - especially at a main agent.

discs and pads all round can come to £600 -700
tyres another £600 - 700
big service ditto

although you can do it cheaper at an independent or yourself. But at a main agent its possible to run up huge bills just on normal running costs - that little lot above could easily come to over £2k ish! especially with VAT and consumables. Use it to bargain the price down...

Sometimes I think these sites don't give 'real life' valuations, also a lot of variation between lowest and highest (over £10k Shocked )

I don't really want to go up any more, I think like anything else, you can always find something better for the extra few £k. But you've got to draw the line somewhere, and I've decided £18k max Wink

Looking at what else is available at the moment on Autotrader/Pistonheads/eBay. If you get it for 18k, then it's a good deal,
