New Discovery & X5 Police Escort

Earlier today I saw a Police Escort consisting of 3 Motorbikes, one up front, two either side at the front of a new Silver/Grey Land Rover Discovery which had blue lights flashing in the front & rear windows.

Behind that was a black BMW X5, also with blue lights flashing in the front and rear windows, then behind there was another two police bikes either side of the X5 and one trailing.

They were going some and cutting through the traffic into Gosport, which made me think could be something to do with the MOD because of the big helicopter repair bases and Navy, but I didnt think the Goverment used BMW X5s ???? Reformed

Probably a 'Cat A' escort. They transport high risk persons around in this way, such as prisoners who are an escape risk or terrorists and the like. My Previous RR's!

If it was a Cat A escort the prisoner would be in a Police or Prison Service Cellular Van and not transported in a Discovery or an X5 Shocked and Cat A escorts always marked cars escorting.

I bloody well hope we make scum like terrorists and high category prisoners walk between prisons and not waste such vast amounts of money in personnel as was involved in that convoy. Even a Reliance van isctoo good and they would still escape. Probably a minor royal going to a tea party or garden fete somewhere..... 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

Any Royal visits in the local news? Sounds like the norm for a vip escort. Ian

Prince Harry is due to visit the Dockyard today (18th). I'd suggest he's either got there early or it was a dummy run. Not sure you should be reading this bit.

I can't imagine it was Harry, he's been at Middle Wallop recently, getting his army wings, walking (staggering) around the the area with his mates without too much fuss apart from a protection officer in the background.

I do suspect it was something to do with the MOD though. Current MY2020
