Hi,
I recently fitted the excellent EGR blanking kit from ebay, but when fitting the bottom plates I stupidly used the old bolts. During refitting I realised that the reason the plates are supplied with allan key type bolts rather than the Torq type originals is so you can't overtorque the bolt when refitting and shear the head off..... which I promptly did. So now one of the bottom plates is basically held on with one bolt.
What problems can this cause? If there's a leak there, would it reduce boost pressure to the turbo on that side for example or is the plate just there to stop crap dropping into the engine?
I can probably drill the bolt with a left handed drill bit and get it out that way, just wary of drilling into my engine if it's not actually causing a problem.
