Ligurian Black and getting a touch up stick from LR

Before the inevitable paint chips start appearing I thought I'd ask the dealer to supply a touch up stick for my AB.
But because its an SVO colour, apparently, the salesman at the dealer claims its hard work to talk to the guys at SVO

really ??

on the plus side and depending on the light the paint has about 5 different colour appearances from Matt blue to black to Navy blue to almost turquoise.

its off to my detailers in a couple of weeks as the supplying dealer couldn't remove the light scratches it seems which ruins the paint ...I've already spent about 5 hours polishing it and only had it a couple of weeks Thumbs Up

I didn't think you could touch up those fancy paints ?

I remember the old TVR colours - they couldn't even respray a panel - it was the whole car if you didn't;t want to see the transition......

Rather than go to the dealer, I would go to a professional car paint store. They have all paint codes in their databases and can make spray cans and touch up sticks at request for you. ----------

Maybe would be a good idea for the dealers to tell us that when we buy the car with SVO colours???

Dan, I actually managed to get a pot of touch up paint direct from SVO just in case. My car is Spectral Chromoflair Blue and I have it PPF’d across the front of the car and up onto the bonnet as well.

All I did was contacted SVO direct and it arrived within a couple of days.

Haven’t had to use it yet...... but now I’m tempting fate Big Cry Big Cry 19MY SVA-Dynamic Spectral Chromoflair Blue but colour not available in profile

I've sent an email off to SVO with the contract number and paint code so we'll see what happens.

seems barmy that you cant get paint for the SVO colours - maybe they're not meant for driving in these colours ?

I just tried touching up some tiny paint chips (and I mean tiny) on my 2016 Corris Gray with the factory touch up paint/brush. Dumbest thing I've ever done. Paint dried almost black. Now trying to pick out the touchup paint so I can use Dr. Colorchip on it. I used it on my L322 and it works great! My fuji while was much easier to touch up, I can see the Corris Gray is going to be tough.

So ...... the upshot of trying to get some paint resulted in several emails to SVO who responded by saying that because the volumes of these colours is so low they do not and the dealer does not supply touch up sticks.

After some back and forth with the supplying dealer of the car a pot of paint has now turned up in the post courtesy of the said dealer, along with a set of number plates that should have been fitted to the car prior to collection.

All that took a whole month to sort out ...... Rolling Eyes

Its off to my detailer next to sort out the free swirls in the paint

Cheers
Rob .
It's better to ask for forgiveness than ask for permission ......... apparently!
