A couple of things - TV upgrade, 3 button key upgrade and bt

Appreciate any help with my queries. I've had a look in the wiki too.

I have a 56 Vogue with analogue TV (guess it's this as it's just a fuzzy pic). Do I have to swap the entire unit out to get a digital signal? I know I can't upgrade the unit to android Sad If so, any links for the digital stuff? Is there a way for it to play when driving (not for me, it'll be for my son)

I have a 3 button key and it's in a terrible condition. I've been looking at upgrading. I'm looking at swapping the chip out and into the new one but is there a specific key I need to buy? I will eventually want a spare key but guessing I will need IIR tool or know someone with one? How much are these tools? What are the options to get one cut etc?

With not being able to upgrade to Android, is there a way I can have bluetooth? I would want this for music and calls. I've had a look at the wiki but I don't think this would give me the options to receive calls? I'd be able to hear but assume I wouldn't be able to talk.

Thanks for any advice, you've been extremely helpful so far!!

Does it not have Bluetooth for calls? I have a 2007 that can make calls but can’t stream music

Hmm, I assumed it didn't have BT as I didn't see the option. I will have a look tomorrow.

I have looked at the Pure 600 for DAB, hands-free and streaming music as an alternative.

If you have a telephone button on the right of the head unit, you should have Bluetooth for making calls. Mine works really well on a 55 plate, but I did have to change the Bluetooth ECU for a later one to make it work with an Iphone.
I did a 3 button refurbish post on this forum recently just by replacing the rubber buttons, only a few pounds off Ebay.
Although I also bought a new upgraded flip key from Ebay for £25 with circuit board and you have to swap the transponder from your existing key, but the really hard or luck bit is finding someone to cut it. I tried loads of Timpsons before I found one of them who would do it as they didn't supply the key, but I still end up using my refurb 3 button key as it sticks up less on the dasboard
I also changed the analogue TV ECU unit for a digital one, and that also works really well too. All ECUs in the boot and easy to do.
Ebay is your friend.

Best wishes

Glen, thanks got the reply. Great info!

The key has been ordered from eBay, just a copy. I'll swap everything so it looks brand new. I will tackle the flip key soon! Will the inside fit in the new flip one?

The digital TV is a bit expensive. 150 ish. Not sure if it's worthwhile... I do want it but... I'll decide later 😂

Hi
I only got the rubber buttons, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Range-Rover-III...xyJs5RZcnx
not the entire key. I have tried whole new keys, but the circuit board doesn't transfer well, and just replacing the buttons on the original key does the job better.

I got my flip key here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Range-Land-Rove...SwHzdbnkDS

You will need to swap the transponder, but it comes with the circuit board, so you will only need to sync it. (no tools required)

For my model year 2005
look for TV units "ah4219c063" mine was £75
newer Bluetooth module "XVJ500420" around £100

The other nice upgrade is fitting a rear view camera if you don't have one. see my post here https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic44895.html

Best wishes

Glen, again, great reply. You sound like you've done all the mods I'm thinking of! Is there anything else I should be doing or would be worthwhile. I'm all for keeping it pretty much stock, as you probably did.

What's your thoughts on a Pure DAB radio through the aux in? I would miss my DAB.

Re TV, would mine be the same model needed as yours as mine is the facelift. I'm assuming the 2005 you have is different.

Is that the 05-09 TV unit? Does that also give you DAB radio?

I'd be interested to know if the newer TV has DAB... Anyone? Very Happy
