I have a 2011 4.4 TDV8 and it keeps going into restricted performance when I accelerate hard and 2 turbo cuts in and then I ease off accelerator. The fault code says Turbo Actuator stuck open. I am looking at getting it to a garage that can do a Power Clean on it to hopefully cure problem.

I understand you need to drive it to open 2nd turbo up, revving when stationary won’t do it.

As Graham said likely to be changeover valve, the turbo spins the whole time, the air is just constantly recycled back through that turbo until the changeover valve opens at higher rpm.

The original has got the nut on top and the later modified valve has no nut.

Thanks everyone for your responses, I really appreciate it, I will check out the changeover valve, I wasn't sure how the system works, I just presumed it had two variable vane turbochargers one small and one larger one.
