The lacquer on the plastic bonnet scuttle panel had started to peel on my 2014 VSE.

Rather than simply repaint the same colour, I thought to change it to the same as the rest of the car, Luxor.

I think it looks much better. The new cars have no plastic panel, just flat steel bonnets.

I didn't have the wits to take direct before and after photos but you get the idea.

Just under £100 since you ask.

I did exactly the same to mine, about a year ago, after I’d seen the current model year car and then realised just how ugly that grey scuttle panel was!! I’ve never heard of anyone else who’s done it other than you and me though.

Thanks. The body shop who did it, who do a lot of work for the local LR franchise, say they get tons of work repainting gills, rooves, side stripes etc.

They said they’d done a few of these bonnet panels and they were an improvement in all colours.
