Well vehicle failed the MOT this morning for the old tin worm in both sills. Anyone had these replaced before and approx cost ? Had a chat to the MOT tester and his opinion is to have the work done due to the condition of the vehicle . Basically the outer plastic sill covers trap moisture etc and as it never dries out the corrode , despite regular applications of Waxoyl. I have contacted a welder to carry out the work as recommended by the garage but was after a ball park costing (obviously depends and what other horrors he discovers when everything is removed ) .
