So....the FF's latest little quirk is when I lock the car, the mirrors fold in reliably, but rarely resume normal position on unlocking. This means I have to press both buttons either side of the mirror adjuster simultaneously once I've started the car for mirrors to resume normal position. Not a huge inconvenience, but given the sat nav, stored cd's and voice command have recently packed up and the driver setup memory now has a mind of its own I despair ! Could these issues mean a simple software update is required or might it it something more sinister ? I like a bit of nostalgia, but this takes me back to when I was seventeen years old when all I could afford was a well used old banger with a whole host of problems.

Have you changed anything with the IID TOOL I recently? I had a similar issue with the mirrors in my L405 after a change in the CCF files ,( completely unrelated to the mirrors).

My second car when i was 17 was a XJ6 4.2 , everything worked and it cost me 450 stg and sold it for 450 stg 1 year later without having any issues. My L405 cost me 86k euro and i thank the lord every morning when i start it and get no warnings !!!!! And i will be lucky to get 50k for it after a year probably. Progress  2015 4.4 AB

Thanks for the reply Dolph, a fair assumption however I don't use an IID tool. I did change the primary battery not so long ago and maybe that's caused the mirror problem, although the other niggles had pre-existed for a few weeks. I haven't renewed the secondary battery as there's very little info on the spec or guidance on changing, plus I'm not sure whether it needs changing as I don't know if this battery is monitored for its state of charge as well as the primary battery. Can't see the spec without disconnecting and removal which I'm a bit reluctant to do. All I know is it's a fairly large battery, unlike later models which I believe have a much smaller one. Other aspects of the infotainment are fine such as radio, TV, physical cd play, ipod and general settings, cameras etc. I guess the sensible move is get it checked out during the next MD service.

Edit......being the chivalrous chap I am, opened the rear o/s door for a lady passenger today and the mirrors unfolded. Subsequently tried a few times with no problem so it seems to be the drivers door rather than a general issue.
