huge blast at japanese nuclear plant

reported at the Fukushima-Daiichi plant

the presence of caesium isotopes detected outside the plant suggests the core has been exposed to the air

very worrying as this was the case at Three Mile Island and Chernobyl!

On the news this morning they speculated that a hydrogen explosion may have damaged the core and caused it to leak so I doubt we will see huge mushroom clouds over NE Japan.
