Engine oil service

Hi all i am getting a message on start up service engine oil in 550km and that distance is counting down, The car was serviced about 3000km ago with new oil and filter , has the mechanic forgotten to reset the oil service count down ? We are proberly 1000km from the nearest large town and i hope the car does notgo into limp home mode, i can not get in contact with my mechanic till monday will it be ok to drive hope someone can shed some light on this many thanks

Most likely forgotten about by the mechanic although the interval is 'condition' based rather than a fixed value so it's dependent on a few factors.
Don't worry the oil service light has no effect on the running of the actual vehicle, it's just a reminder.
If you search online you'll find ways you can owner reset the light on your specific model.

If you are that far from an LR garage Then I strongly advise you to buy and keep an IID tool in your car You can check lights and reset your own service lights, also why wait for a light to tell you when to do something? preventive work will keep your FF running much longer without letting you down or hurting your pocket?

No light just warning notice on start up , i got my mechanic to do a full check up ie pre travel check up because of the distances we were travelling

The car is an 06 RR L322 i spare no expence in service as i am not able to carry out servicing. It is a 3lt desial
