Having read a bit more about the problem - it's a bit like the year 2000 problem (y2k), it appears Sat Navs launched after 2010 should be designed to cope with the issue & therefore continue working fine.
However older units could go haywire as they use the date to predict where the GPS satellites are & if they use the incorrect date, they miscalculated your location.
Apparently, if there's a problem, the firmware for the device needs updating - if that's feasible on our older dvd based systems.
