FFS!

Nipped into the post office to get a parcel. 2 Minutes later and it wouldn't start. Just got the dreaded click when I went to turn it over Mad

Phoned the wife and got her to bring my booster pack. Still nothing. Had a tug on the battery connecters seemed fine so thought I'd nip home and get proper jump cables. Still nothing. Big Cry

Caved in and phoned the RAC then sat for 40 minutes convincing myself it was something really expensive or complicated (as can happen with these!).

Guy arrived, opened the bonnet, tugged on the battery connectors and the negative came off. I hadn't tugged hard enough. A dozen turns with a 10mm spanner later and it fired up. No problems. AAAAAAARRRRGH!!

No excuse either. I've had this exact same problem with a previous car, which was why I 'checked' the connections were tight!

Best part of 2 hours of my life wasted cos I'm an arse! Evil or Very Mad

Mine too, it temporarily disconnected itself whilst I was descending a steep icy slope with HDC. Engine and brakes stopped working, luckily I managed to restart before I died in a horrible fireball.

The terminal felt stiff when I tugged it Laughing but it tightened up more with a few more turns.

And the moral is:

Give it a few good tugs then if its comes off when shuffling grip it tight by giving another turn or two. Smile
