A pillar and dab aerial?

Just got a crappy glass aerial and was thinking - has anyone taken on of the a pillars off and mounted a proper dat aerial there? Current stable:
2006 BMW M6
2007 4.2 V8 S/C FF
Gone:
2002 4.4 V8 FF

i have the same reception issue with a stick on the glass DAB aerial and would be interested in finding out about a better option........

I have spoken to dab on wheels and paid for a kinetic 6001 bee sting aerial. I have spoken to the about sliding the mast under the a pillar trim mounting the base to the top of the wing which the bonnet covers. They said I can try it and no quibble refund within 45 days if no good so going to try it Current stable:

2007 4.2 V8 S/C FF

sounds good. how much is the aerial and is it tiny? i cant quite picture where you are fitting it?
