Interior rattle L405

Hi guys,

Does anyone have a fix for an annoying rattle coming from the front cup holder area?
It’s not coming from the sliding cover, but seems to be from to rigid plastic cup holder moulding (with or without the rubber inserts)
The whole area of the moulding appears to be vibrating and can’t see any fixings.
Any help gratefully received.

Thanks.

CJ

Mine seems pretty solid so I would expect yours has come away from it's fixings. I don't have a workshop manual but would guess it's put together in a very similar way to most LR products. Ie snap together. I'd apply some pressure to it to see if it snaps into place but take it easy. I don't accept the costs for any damage caused btw. Thumbs Up

Checked - all fixings seem secure - the plastic just vibrates!
Don’t want to start dismantling the centre console so if no one has any better ideas, I will try and pack the sides with good old fur tape!!

Are you SURE the rattle is coming from there?
Reason for asking is that I had a rattle that seemed to be in that lower central area, but it was actually caused by the passenger sunvisor being unclipped from its hinge (so you can pivot it across to the side window. This is why they give you a second smaller visor, in case you are ever driving on a planet with two suns! FYI).

Thanks Badger - No my visor is securely docked and ready for a trip to outer space!

STILL have my annoying vibration however.

Definitely coming from the cup holder moulding.
If I tap on the hard plastic surround, it vibrates, giving a rattle when on the move - very annoying!,
Struggled to get into the gap to pack it - has anyone got any other ideas please?

The cup holders just pop out and there is a panel that gets you to the emergency gearbox pull... Tried any of those yet sir?

Hi Craig,

Once the rubber cup holder/inserts are removed, mine only has a shaped hard plastic “box”. This is what rattles.
There are no visible fixings or openings in this area.
Please kindly advise.

Thanks.

Funnily, I often got a rattle and was also the larger passenger sunvisor not clicked into place properly after use (drivers side never an issue) . Looks like the base cup holder part is fixed in from underneath I think...

Thanks for the image.
Definitely NOT sunvisor issue as, both passenger visors are securely clipped in.
Looks like I’m going to have to try and pack in between the two plastic pieces in that case!
