Battery test one saying GOOD the other BAD | |
I changed my battery recently, one because it is the original battery fitted, so nearly 10 years old and the other I was getting the click of death from the starter motor.
On doing a foxwell meter test on the old battery using CCA (most common setting) at 850 it PASSED the test as good battery.
On doing a second test, still using 850 as the cranking speed, but this time tested under the EN setting it FAILED. There is a mark on the battery with EN on it so I suppose I should consider the second test as accurate, battery dud.
The thing is when I look at all the utube videos of the Foxwell being used to test batteries they, are all taken using the standard CCA setting, so I can only assume that if they are testing an EN battery they will be getting a false reading.
Does anyone on here use a Foxwell tester, and do you look to see if you are testing an EN rated battery, before setting the cranking amps?
