DPF pressure sensor fail in limp mode, LR can’t supply par | |
I have just had major issues with what was being reported as a Full DPF with red triangle on the dash. Car dropped into limp mode so I had it down to local DPF specialist. Cleaned and regenerated so all seems ok. 600 miles later, this on a car with 32k on it and it’s dropped back to red triangle and limp mode. Further checks by the same repairer and it needs a new pressure differential sensor. So ordered from Landrover as VOR. Message comes back no idea when it will be in stock. So on calling landrover customer care I’m told we don’t know when it will be available it’s in the hands of the purchase team!! Well if they don’t know? So after some argument that surely they could give better information than don’t know, they tell me there are 100s on backorder!! I’m left with car that is useless and no idea what to do next. Get the car on the ramp at local garage and look at the setup. Then on the internet and there is what looks like the unit for sale but says L405 LR supply only. Further discussion and obtain a sensor for a Ford Granada, looks identical. Fit it and it’s giving the right voltages 0v to5v and the triangle disappears. All running well. So £35 for the Ford sensor £135 for the LR one and it’s not got. A delivery date. If any of you are part of the 100s of owners off the road waiting on LR then get hold of the Ford one, looks the same and works the same. Best of luck
