GAP IID - Use on other vehicles

Happy New Year all.............

Just a quickie, can a GAP IID tool be used to read fault codes on another vehicle, specifically a 2015 Citroen C4?

Son borrowed Wife's car yesterday but it seems to have thrown a wobbly and is now stranded 30 miles away!! Just hoping when I get there it is something non-critical so I don't have to wait hours for the AA.

I tried my IIDTool on an ‘04 fiesta with no luck.
I believed the tool read codes from other cars, but it would appear only from other LR’s.
Shame, as it means I need another one for the little run around. Currently driving: 2012 L322 SE Overfinch 4.4 tdv8

I tried this on the C4 yesterday with no luck at all, so seems like only a JLR compatable tool.

AA diagnosed failed injector but through a combination of being too honest and having a bit of a jobsworth AA bloke, they refused to transport the car home Censored

But then, if you have a FFRR towing is a doddle. 35miles and didn't feel like there was anything attached to the back Cool 2021 D350 Fifty Edition - Carpathian Grey

Does anyone have a recommendation for a cheap code reader that can clear too? Just for these little run around cars the IIDTool cannot touch… Currently driving: 2012 L322 SE Overfinch 4.4 tdv8

I use this, as Gap do not support MY18+ L405 yet. It reads and clears codes on majority of mfg. Its identified every code the LR assist guy had on his LR approved device.
