In car DVD remote not working and fixed for £25

Well, I received a happy little email today. The remote for the in-car dvd system wasn’t working.

A replacement was about £80-£100.

I then thought “There must be someone working in a garden shed somewhere that is repairing such things”>….a quick google search and I found RemoteFixer. I already took the remote apart and had a look, but the spares needed to fix it were not available and too fiddly and fine for me to fashion out of raw materials.

I just got the update from RemoteFixer by email- with this link in – http://www.remotefixer.co.uk/rf3063.html

All for a fixed price of £25

Mark

Unnecessary quote removed

that's interesting! My touch screen remote isn't working - it just flashes the left and right screen LEDs.
What was wrong with yours?

Hi there,
battery acid had leaked inside it and destroyed the battery connections and the connection from the left/right switch onto the PCB. They repaired all of this.

P.s.. I think the guys name is Martin, he is a nice guy and will happily talk to you on the phone. You can refer him back to my remote via the link in the OP and he will then have some context and likely remember the remote and it's internals.
