Cold and door handle.

I replaced my driver side door handle cable a few months ago thanks to some excellent comments and pics/videos
from the forum here, but last night had a strange thing happen. Has been very cold here so went out last night got in car, drove to restaurant, had dinner and came out and door handle wouldn't open. Tried crawling in passenger side and interior door handle would operate either. Door buttons go up and down when hitting auto button on dash but felt like cable had snapped again. Got home and put car in garage and turned the heat on and came out an hour later and everything worked fine?? Does anyone know what cause that internally?? I was really afraid I was going to have to replace cable again. Thanks!!

I would imagine your door had froze to your rubber surrounding the door aperture... Lubricate the rubber with gummi pledge or another rubber lube Thumbs Up

Not quite sure what aperture that is?? As I mentioned,
The exterior door handle pulled back like the cable had broken again
When this happened before, the interior door released worked.
Then last night neither worked but after car warmed up
Everything back to normal. Where is the rubber surrounding the aperture located?
And thank you for your help!!

With the greatest of respect sir, go and open your door and you will see a rubber that runs around the closing face with the body of the car... This is the rubber that dries out and when the weather freezes it has a tendency to stick to the car body, thus proventing you opening the door... 👍

I hope that makes more sense now?
