Thinking about getting some tints on my FFRR but want to make sure I get the job done properly.

Finally what level of tint looks good on a Range Rover? Is there a standard level of factory fitted tints?

Be careful if you get the front windows done. I was nicked a couple of weeks ago (not actually booked) for fronts which were too dark - they have the kit to test. The previous owner had them done and I've been driving around for a couple of years without a problem but I've now taken the fronts off (acetone and elbow grease) to keep it legal. See the photo below (fronts are now standard and stickers have been removed!!)

The deal is 30% or greater light transmission (up to legal threshold), £30 fine - which I avoided, despite being 30.7%!!!

20% (I think) to 30%, 3 points and a fine.

Less than 20%, a summons.

They will make you attempt to remove it on the spot. Also, it is possible that it will be added to the MoT test in the future. However, I presume if you go somewhere reputable, they'll already know the above.

IIRC the legal threshold is 30% LTV (light transmittance value) BUT... The windows are alredy tinted to a degree from the factory so you can't just chuck 27% tints on.

Worth checking it out before you spend hard earned on it. Ash
