United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Fuji White
Various issues TDV8

Hi all.
Just bought a dog !
TDV8, 2008, 110,000 miles.
It was a repo car so no test drive etc.
My guy has blanked off the EGR valves and remapped it as when I got it she wouldn’t pull and would be quicker walking!
But now at several speeds it feels like you’re running out of fuel ! To overcome this I toe it and it soon disappears, any ideas ?
I was told to replace the wastegate actuator.
Also after 10 mins of driving hdc not working, suspension lowered and no special programmes are working and the symbol with the arrow around it lights up.
Thanks in advance guys.

Forgot to say I’ve a new battery and brake switch thingy coming Tuesday.

If you plan to keep the car, get an IID diagnostic tool, it will save you in the long run.

It will give you an insight to the problems the car had/has.

As above you need some codes read.

These aren’t really cars you can have a guess at.

But here goes.....

Christmas tree lights: steering angle sensor not calibrated, height sensor bad or one of about another half dozen things.
Fuelling issue : possibly a fuelling issue. May need the turbo (not wastefagate) actuator lubricating, possible turbo hose issue

Get the codes read and you will have a less guessing approach Thumbs Up There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Also download the workshop manual from the wiki section. The symbol with the arrow around it is the engine fault light. Could be any number of things and probably more than one. You'll need an IID diagnostic tool or similar or access to a mechanic who has one and is willing to help. It may depend how much you want to do yourself or if you are going to leave it to your guy.
If (big if maybe) it has been serviced by authorised LR dealers you can ask any of them for a copy of the service history. Previously a 2008MY Tonga Green Vogue SE 3.6 TDV8

No service history unfortunately and I know nothing about engines etc so leave it up to the others.
As for that IDD tool, I did look after watching a video but they’re around £250 aren’t they ?
