I am having to change the high break light on my car, but cannot get the plug out of the socket, the plug on the left with the yellow wire should pull out of the socket that is attached to the light. Does anyone know how they come apart, I've tried pulling, squeezing, poking but I can't get them apart.

What does the other side look like ?

A lot of those little connectors need something pushed to undo the retention clip and they dont always have a lever to do it. It looks like you've tried that on the centre hole on the right hand part.

An alternative is to lever a very thin small screwdriver in from the left side into the gap between each to push the right hand side outwards enough to let go of the retention clip. V8 or else ...

Can’t you tell from the connector on your new light how it clicks together? Though I imagine you’ve looked at that already..... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Thanks for the video. I've worked out how get the plug out of he socket. Just pull the plug very hard while holding the socket still. ITS A PUSH FIT PLUG
