Water Leak

Afternoon all

Have noticed a slight water leak over last few days. Steady drip from under car in region of gearbox. It's def water although not sure where it could be coming from. No information coming up on dash regarding low water levels. I'll be getting underneath car tomorrow to have a better look but wondered if anyone has ideas on what it could be.

Cheers FFRR TD6 HSE

Is not just the A/C as they are meant drip away the water they evaporate?

Could well be. I always have A/C on as recommended but only just noticed this drip. Just went out again and it's still dripping after 50mins of car being parked after journey. FFRR TD6 HSE

There is a heater hose at the very back on the engine that goes into the heater valves that can fail. But as already suggested I would bet on your AC. The evaporator can get a lot of ice build up on it, and it doesnt defrost that quickly in these temps.

Greg
If you havent noticed any loss of coolant from the expansion tank i wouldnt bother worrieing. Now if you coolant level is falling then it could be the hose's at the back of the engine, or could be the valey pan gasket. Now the hose's are the easiest to replace but the valey pan isnt the end of the world either. Have a search for coolant leak as i have recently pasted about the valey pan seal leak. common problem with the M62 engine. Mine has a leak in the same area and its the valey pan thats leaking. Not to much of a problem just need to keep ontop of the water. When payday comes the seals and gaskets will be ordered and will set about sorting the leak.

Good news peeps, it was just the A/C Smile
In addition to that the new wheels & tyres are on and look class (pics to follow soon), new oil sorted and had all engine electrics reset so car can learn the way I drive.
Only done 20miles since but mpg has gone through the roof. Normally flirts around 21-23 and just got 28-30!!!!! Thumbs Up FFRR TD6 HSE

I haven't had it remapped yet Smile
Just had it plugged into autologic gizmo and a few things sorted and reset to original settings. I don't really understand what he was doing but he said it should help with mpg. Gunna get the autologic remap in a few weeks I reckon. I'll keep an eye on mpg as I do expect it to calm down but hopefully it will stay above what I got before. FFRR TD6 HSE
