My 2002 TD6 is making some strange noises of late.

First off, I get a whirring noise that steps up and down with the gear changes. Best way to describe it is an electric train when it pulls away from a station.

Now on hills I’m getting a rattle from the engine and I can feel a vibration.

If I rev it at standstill I can hear what sounds like a whoosh as the revs drop

Turbo? Injectors? Intercollegiate hose? All three?
