Different tread depth, same axle

Hi all,

I've done a search but can't see one on this (although I'm sure it's out there somewhere!).

Is there a guideline for maximum allowable difference in tread depth across the same axle. Specifically, same make of tyre both sides, one has 6mm and the other 8mm?

Thanks Thumbs Up

Ideally identical - but would have thought tyre pressures being a bit off would make more difference than that.

Personally, I wouldn't worry about it (and I'm a bit anal about tyres)

How can it possibly make any difference, unless the road and your driving are 100% straight the diff will be adjusting anyway. letters not necessarily in the right order
