Fuel shrinkage - anyone else suffered from this?

you take your car in for some work to be done / servicing etc and when you get it back there's less fuel in the tank...

Audi “lost” 1/3rd of a tank diagnosing a gearbox leak on my RS6 many years ago!

I was extremely unimpressed, with both the dealer and the customer services department of Audi uk. Not touched he brand since.

My Skoda Octavia vrs once lost over a quarter of a tank of fuel and gained a load of dead insects all over the windscreen / bumper when it went into Skoda to diagnose a rattle in one of the rear doors!

Many years ago I put a Vauxhall in for a gearbox change at a garage and 'lost' the spare wheel, and of course didn't know for some time later. Evil or Very Mad Previously......

well, since I started this post I decided to replace the battery in my 2010 SLK which I've had from 2 months old, it was a Mercedes demo car.

for about the last 2 years the battery has been iffy when the car has stood for more than a week and to my surprise the battery has been replaced at some point with a Lion battery which is slightly too small and a big nut was fitted to space out the battery clamp to ensure it located properly.

as I do all servicing myself the car has only ever been in one place for any work done which was 3 years ago (not a Merc dealer) so the garage in question must have removed the genuine battery and put a cheap one in its place Evil or Very Mad

This is extremely Censored annoying

The specialist I've taken mine to for the last couple of jobs has a prominent notice in reception stating that dashcams must be disabled/switched off whilst in their care. It does make me wonder why, although they don't seem to have actually enforced it on any of the visits. 2010 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE

Gives away the layout and location of any expensive equipment, as well as any security systems in place

I also switch them off in my workshop, but leave them in place while road testing etc
