Some Counties seem very strict.

check out "24hr speed cameras - smart motorways" coming to a motorway near you lol. anything over 70 and it's a ticket. if the speed has been reduced on the motorway, anything over that will also incur a ticket |

If you are looking out for 'other vehicles, pedestrians, animals and generally watching the road' you will see speed restriction signs as part of your observation of hazards.

My comment related to experience on the M25 within the last week ( I can't comment on the M1). What I saw was that I was frequently overtaken by cars that, based on my speedometer, were doing nearer 80 than 70 and yet the cameras were not flashing them.

the smart cameras do not flash apparently, you just get a ticket. (on authority from a buddy who has been installing the damn things) No different to the poxy vans that sit on the side of the road waiting for you to come around the bend lol |

I'm sorry mate, but this is what driving is about, we should be taking all that lot in and processing it. For many, speed camera detectors are simply there so that they can ignore the speed limit with impunity. I'm no angel and I've had my fair share of points, but it's always been a fair cop and generaly because I wasn't paying enough attention to everything around me, including the posted speed limit. That said, if you're genuinely trying to take note of everything, then a reminder is never a bad thing. That’s one thing the French get right.... not taking it anymore & protest!!! Now where is my yellow T shirt? I don’t believe the 72mph story But believe the welsh are running their own show and doing what they want including nicking unfor a 1mph excess, as they have done what they like since the days of CC Brunstrom Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc He who dies with the most toys wins... |

Some counties do run zero tolerance. I think lincolnshire is one of them.

Lincolnshire does have a zero tolerance policy and do not adopt the ACPO guidlines, my Mrs had the pleasure of a speed awareness course for 1 mph! over the limit.
