For me I would head towards a diesel Golf. I take it youre looking at an older car in which case the 1.9PD engine is nothing short of amazing in terms of economy and performance, I've had 2 PD engined vehicles, both did 200,000+ absolutely trouble free. BMW i3 Electric Car

I have a 54 plate (first of the newer shape, MK5? i think?) Golf TD GT 170hp DSG and its quite simply ace... Cost me next to nothing to run and can be bought for banger money these days... |

Post 2010 Fiat 500. Seat as comfy as a FF and 50+ MPG. My Mrs has one and we love it. |
