havnt done the door lock smash , but can you fiddle a screwdriver in the lock to see if the lock releases... ... - .- -.

Although the door card is off at the top I havn't yet removed it completley so access is a little limited to the latch area. I have had a good poke about but what ever I do it seems to make no difference.

certainly sounds like the lock itself is knackered ...hope you find an answer for this problem... ... - .- -.
