Hi guys
I have searched, and know it’s been asked and answered loads, but the more I read the more lost I get!

2004 TD6 non touch screen. Has been changing colour, silent then bursting into life etc etc for a while. But was planning on changing car so lived with it. Due to change in circumstances, I’m gonna keep it another year, so need to sort radio out!

The wiring and running cables doesn’t scare me. But only really want to spend about £300 max (I’m in UK)

Do I look for a second hand standard unit, or upgrade?
If upgrade, could anyone point me in right direction?

Wish list would be:-
Looks factory fit
UK Radio
Sat Nav would be nice
Either CD player or be able to play a memory stick
Working steering wheel controls maybe?


Not a huge ask, but don’t really want to start changing separate amps, speakers etc

Really appreciate any direction. I’ve seen units that you can “spec” yourself. But so many different models I’m struggling

Had read Petes one in the past, but kinda forgot how involved it all was.
Was kinda hopeing the was now a work around having to keep the old head unit etc in glovebox.
The more i read it, the more involved it looks  Accept, some days your the pigeon, some days your the statue!
