Driving about today and the thought came to me , shortly some private plates ( a few are at the moment ) will be worth more than the cars they are on.

So it wont be do you have a private plate to put on your car it will be, So what car are you putting on your private plate .........

The one I was after has gone. Should have bought it at the time instead of messing about!

These DVLA ones vary in price- I've noticed the R reg ones are £245, yet the V and others are £90. It's my luck to buy a V plate and the price drops the next day!

All the F plates seem very pricey considering.

I wanted to buy the wife one for her car as it had her name in it AND the car.....trouble is, it went for tens of thousands!

911 plates always fetch top top money.

Plates seem to be like marmite though - love or hate them.

Just bought one off the DVLA. Still waiting for the confirmation email but in the meantime- what do I do about the MOT certificate? Does one get sent out automatically? I know the V5 and tax does.

Also, I assume the insurance company will probably charge an admin fee for a replacement certificate of Insurance? 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

You will get the reg. on a retention doc. with ransfer fee payed.
Best way then is to get plates made ready and go to local DVLA office and they will do the paper work and transfer the reg. They will give you new tax / mot there and then.
Take your plates to transfer over and make sure your insurance has been told, most will cover both reg.'s for 24hrs or so.
